GRRC proposes a distributed network of RF sensors synchronized by highly stable clocks to share position, navigation, and time (PNT) information over highly secure spread spectrum links. The proposed network would have the ability to augment or replace GPS systems and could be readily linked to other local PNT networks in other areas to expand the coordinate reference frame. The network relies upon fixed nodes of known position and uses mobile nodes such as UAVs to act as survey transits to share PNT information battlefield-wide.
