Existing military engine air intake systems rely heavily on barrier media filtration elements with, or without mechanical precleaning, to achieve satisfactory particulate removal from the intake air stream. Barrier media filter elements accumulate debris removed from the air stream and, as a necessity, must be replaced at frequent intervals creating heavy service and logistics burdens for operating forces.

Benefits:
The significance of the opportunity will be to eliminate filter elements reducing logistics and maintenance of current military and commercial vehicles filter systems. This will also increase performance of engine filtration and two never before provided

Benefits:
very high separating efficiency across the entire operating range of an engine and positive airflow pressure that significantly reduces engine air intake restriction. High separating efficiency may provide a method to eliminate the need for a barrier filter in the engine air intake. Lower engine air intake restriction will provide real performance gains for the modern electronic controlled diesel engine.
