We propose a tunable mid-IR laser source based upon an existing and proven diode-pumped laser technology. By coupling KTA, KTP, and AnGeP(2) optical parametric oscillators, we generate continuously tunable laser sources in all four atmospheric transmission bands. Using the measured performance characteristics of the diode pumped laser, we propose a single laser system which can generate more than 1W per band simultaneously in all four bands. The output will be continuously tunable across all four bands. This system will provide a versatile building block which can later be expanded into a full multi-function system.
