Generator used primary power systems are the achilles heel of tactical command and control systems, field hospitals, and other tactical support facilities. They are noisy and prone to failure at the most critical times. Tactical power using systems have different power duty cycles and power factors. Some are predictable; other totally random; and many must be depended upon in the "heat of the battle". The objective of the phase I work is to develop the functional description and system specification for a dynamic adaptive tactical power distribution system (ATPDS) that can be used with tactical power generation and tactical C3I equipment as maintenance facilities, etc. The resulting specification will be used in phase ii for the development of a prototype of the system that can be field evaluated by the army.
