Vertiq, located in Philadelphia, PA, makes smart electric motors and advanced propulsion systems for UAS. With position sensing and its proprietary calibration and control software, Vertiq optimizes motor performance and controllability. There is a clear need for a highly efficient, reliable and mass manufacturable propulsion system that can be scaled down to portable sizes. The modern warfighter must be able to carry a drone for reconnaissance purposes without weighing themselves down. Similarly, there is a need for high end sUAS in the commercial sector. Current solutions are either too bulky and heavy or suffer severe flight time and maneuverability limitations. Combining Vertiq’s advanced motor control and its proprietary hinged propeller, the underactuated propulsion system will allow UAV makers to build the ideal aerial vehicle for defense and commercial applications. Vertiq Underactuated Propulsion system is a drop-in replacement for current sUAS technologies, replacing complex control mechanisms with only 2 moving parts.
