An engine of the single sleeve valve type (SVE) is proposed for a highly efficient SUAS propulsion system. This engine will operate on the 4-stroke cycle and employ direct injection/compression ignition. The engine type is currently under construction in support of a commercial project. The SVE has been used in aircraft application and generally exceeded the performance of contemporary engines.
