O Analytics’ proposed project facilitates on-orbit approach and rendezvous when GPS is not available. The US Space Force has identified the need to keep the space environment safe for US assets and requires the ability to clear debris and derelict satellites in GPS-denied environments. Currently, LEO orbital servicing satellites rely strongly on GPS navigation and radiometrics to perform rendezvous proximity operations (RPO). Our JAMAIGA concept tracks and provides relevant metrics specifically for proximity assessment of derelict space objects in the absence of GPS. JAMAIGA will leverage both active satellite detection and navigation software which has flown on multiple deep-space missions in application to address a new use case and architecture that focuses on decreasing proximity environment for a select target being serviced and related scenarios when GPS is not available.
