Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) and security personnel need to know what they are dealing with when responding to a suspicious package or to render safe an Improvised Explosive Device. Today, they must take additional risks by opening packages to visually or chemically identify threat materials, because current internal imaging options can’t identify specific materials. Spectrohm's radio frequency-based Transmission Line Tomography has the ability to both internally image and gather material identifying spectra using broadband radio waves. This capability could be incorporated into a threat identification imaging tool for EOD and security airmen. Spectrohm proposes to both identify a specific AF stakeholder and test threat-specific materials with its imaging technology.

Smuggled drugs, hazardous chemicals, or explosive threats can enter aircraft in cargo and packages loaded at aerial ports. These threats can be both intentional and inadvertent and screening for them is currently time consuming and exposes Airmen to unnec
