Today, many public and private sector organizations depend heavily on software to run their respective operations. As such, understanding the quality and security of these software applications during the lifetime (from cradle to grave) of these assets is extremely important, as poorly managed software can have a negative impact on an organization’s performance and can cost millions of dollars to manage and fix. SettleTop is focused on revolutionizing the security around the way software assets are deployed and upgraded is a major undertaking. At present, SettleTop’s team of industry experts in software reliability and security have built a software scanning platform that is a fundamental key building block. Our platform currently provides the mechanism to build and scan executables to ensure software and architectural quality and store the assets in a secure escrow. Yet to fulfill the vision of providing organizations a secure software asset management tool, SettleTop is proposing to increase the USAF’s security rigor but providing a secure digital ledger using blockchain, so that all aspects of the software asset, and associated metrics are securely used and persistently stored for the life of a software asset. SettleTop will leverage its existing platform to provide a Software Asset Management solution that will enable the creation of a blockchain digital ledger used for tracking of key software assets (e.g., executables) and data (e.g., vendor performance) for approved reuse of share software assets and better decision making. This ensures that the USAF programs are always using approved and secure baselines. In addition, key data on vendor performance can be captured to provide key AF stakeholders with important decision making information, which will support their efforts on increasing the speed at which software capabilities are produced in the most cost effective
