Geosite will conduct a thorough feasibility study and create a minimum viable product (MVP) for a SAR Mission Management Tool (MMT) for the Air Force Rescue Coordination Center (AFRCC), as requested in User Need no. 3862. The MMT will interface with the COSPAS-SARSAT distress alert system to reduce the time AFRCC SAR controllers spend filtering out false distress alerts. This solution will allow SAR controllers to rapidly access information about a rescue incident to better coordinate response efforts across various federal, state and local agencies. It will integrate with various open source online tools to optimize controller efficiency and ensure relevant data is leveraged during incident responses. It will provide a secure, searchable archive AFRCC floor activities to ensure future information requests can be fulfilled while still protecting personally identifiable information (PII). Most importantly, the MMT developed by Geosite will save lives by significantly reducing the SAR response time across the continental 48 states. Geosite visited the AFRCC on January 21, 2020 to better understand its processes and problems, therefore, the customer discovery portion is already complete, allowing us to dedicate the entire Phase I PoP and funding toward creating a blueprint for a long term solution for the AFRCC.
