Security Forces Squadron has a national defense-related mission need in the area of increased touchless entry points for base access/entry capabilities in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Specifically, the ability for individuals to expeditiously gain entry to the installation using Truefaces facial recognition with touchless entry to eliminate the spreading of the virus due to contact at the base entry points on two Air Force bases. Trueface is the leading US-based facial recognition company with a focus on frictionless authentication in both physical and digital environments. Leaning on its deployment expertise, Trueface will partner with a GSA-scheduled kiosk manufacturer to install a contactless fast lane that uses face recognition as the authenticating credential. The installation of Truefaces TRL 7 equivalent contactless facial recognition will achieve the mission needs of increased touchless entry points and expeditious ingress, and also reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19 and viruses like it amongst Security Forces and possibly the greater base by no longer requiring them to check individual CAC cards and be in close proximity to those obtaining entry to the base.
