The objective of this effort is to develop a novel prototype receiver architecture capable of 20+ GHz of instantaneous bandwidth (IBW).The main performance benefit from this type of technology will be very fast detection times. Combining ultra wideband hardware technology with sample clock modulation will result in a high probability of seeing every pulse associated with all signals of interest (SOI) in the environment. This will provide a path for detection of all types of signals, including low duty cycle and pulse-to-pulse frequency agile, within a handful of pulses, ensuring detection times measured in microseconds and milliseconds instead of many second detection times typically associated with traditional receivers. Additional benefits of this receiver technology include dramatic reduction in jammer blanking requirements, simpler integration with jammer systems (no high-speed interfaces, such as look through blanking lines, required), and a very significant reduction in SWaP characteristics.A 20+ GHz receiver can dramatically improve performance of radar warning receivers (RWR), front-end receivers for jammer systems, and low probability of intercept/detect (LPI/LPD) receivers. These commercial applications are numerous within DoD. For this reason, we anticipate an enthusiastic market for this new receiver technology to supplement or replace existing receiver threat detection capabilities.EW receiver, wideband signal detection, fast detection,spectrum/situational awareness, acquire frequency agile/low duty radar, low SWAP,seamless integration with onboard jammer
