A prime Air Force end user has an urgent operational need for a fused Air Traffic Management / Situational Awareness Solution for the operation of unmanned systems in mixed manned/unmanned airspace. The users currently utilize commercially available data feeds and manually compare (look between different screens or devices) to mentally create an operational picture and conduct collision avoidance. GCI proposes to leverage existing COTS and open source hardware as well as software to deliver an Low Cost ATAK Compatible Fused Traffic Management Situational Awareness Air Traffic Management Solution consisting of both hardware and software that will enable the fusing of ADS-B, AIS, and other data feeds of interest. The solution will create a common air picture on an ATAK style device. In the Phase I, GCI proposes to validate the product-market fit with the Air Force users as well as the greater Air Force and DoD, create an actionable plan, create a prototype, understand additional use cases and features for the solution.
