Phase I

Contract Number: FA8650-13-M-5040
Start Date: 7/9/2013    Completed: 4/9/2014
Phase I year
2013
Phase I Amount
$146,872
A method of fabricating highly conductive and shielding electrical conduit and associated fittings is proposed. The technology will be based upon creating conductive composite tubes and fittings. Such composites have proven their ability to shield as well as their aluminum counterparts at about 1/3 the weight. Both rigid and flexible versions will be developed. Cables will be secured and tested in the new conduits.

Benefit:
Will result in very lightweight composite conduit for HPM shielding. Weight savings of 50% to 75% over current technologies.

Phase II

Contract Number: FA8650-14-C-5022
Start Date: 6/26/2014    Completed: 6/23/2016
Phase II year
