Brushfire Technologies proposes to adapt our secure local area network gateway to the unique requirements of the DMO network to detect, analyze and mitigate security threats in real time with no adverse affects on network performance. Security analysis based on real time packet inspection coupled with application awareness and heuristically derived network topology information provides unprecedented levels of security. The speicifics of the modifications required revolve around the unique protocols and data structures used in HLA/DIS compliant federates. Our completely flexible architecture is perfectly suited for this type of application. A prototype demonstration during this Phase I project will show that the packet processing and threat detection capabilities are in place to warrant moving on to phase II.
