We propose a novel packaging scheme for high-power optically pumped MWIR lasers. The proposed device module does not need any optics for the alignment and is very compact in size. During the program, numerous calibration runs laser structures will be grown using MBE. The package thermal management will also be optimized. It is expected that high-performance and high-power MWIR lasers can be realized utilizing mature 980 nm lasers as the pump source. These lasers will find not only defense but also many commercial applications such as chemical sensing, free space optical communications etc.
