A multi-function all-solid state diode-pumped laser system comprised of a series of miniature laser heads pumped via an optical fiber by a single diode and electronics package which is located remote from the laser heads. The compact and robust laser heads exhibit high reliability and low power consumption suitable for airborne operation. The basic 1 micron emitting laser head will operate in both cw and Q-switched modes up to a repetition reat of 50 kHz. Other interchangable laser heads incorporate KTA, PPLN, or CdSe intracavity optical parametric oscillators to cover the 1-12 micron spectral region. Optical multplexing allows a single fiber-copuled diode laser to selectively pump several remote laser heads serving purposes such as target designation, obstacle avoidance, laser radar and infrared conuntermeausres.
