Integrate emerging technologies of combination electromagnetic motor bearings, fault tolerant design and vibration isolation into a single, compact spherical actuator design. The resulting technology will provide low weight, reliable, two rotational and three translational motion control of sensitive payloads, and graceful degradation in system performance via fault tolerant control.
