OTI proposes to provide a multi-disciplinary optimizatin capability for advanced missile airframes development by utilizing an innoative, intelligent design automation concept which combines various classes of optimization techniques to manipulate simulation codes unmodified. The optimization techniques will be based on both traditional numerical optimization techniques as well as state-of-the-art computational methods such as knowledge-based system and genetic algorithm. The enginering disciplines to be addressed include Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), structural mechanics, structural dynamics, heat transfer, and Radar Cross Section (RCS).
