Fire research feels we can increase the throw range of halon fire suppression agents by simply cooling it to a very low temperature so that it does not become a gas but remains in a liquid state for as long as possible. We propose to do this by using the cooling power of c02 going from a liquid to a gaseous state. It has tremendous heat absorption capabilities and will cool the halon. In addition, it will act as an independent firefighting agent. The shalon will not touch the c02 until it exits the nozzle. They will not react with each other.
