In 2003, Nascent Technology Solutions, LLC. was acquired by Luna Innovations - itself a very active SBIR involvd firm. Nascent had been founded with technologies licensed from NASA Langley. The firm develops instruments for non-destructive evaluation (NDE) using technologies such as ultrasonic sensing. . NDE enables difficult structural evaluations to be performed efficiently without damage or disassembly. Nascent's products can be used in applications ranging from inspection of microelectronics to ship hulls and are of particular interest to companies in the aerospace, marine, medical, utility, and electronics industries.
