Distributed, collaborative visualization and control of real-time fusion experiments and simulations is of growing importance, because the next major facilities will be internationally located and operated. Currently, collaborative visualization tools for tiled displays in control rooms have substantial overhead and are not satisfactory for tracking dynamic displays. This project will build on modern Grid messaging technology, a commercial collaboration environment, and two novel client applications to support fault tolerant dynamic shared displays.
Commercial Applications and Other Benefits as described by the awardee: The technology should support collaborative data analysis in any distributed science area. An important commercial market for such products is the digital entertainment industry, including video games and films
