Public Profile
In June 2017, Japanese based Kaneka Corporation acquired Applied Poleramic Inc (API), the California-based formulated advanced resin supplier in the aerospace area. Long time SBIR involved, Applied Poleramic Inc. (API) specializes in the development and manufacture of optimized composite materials for aerospace, marine and industrial markets. API manufactures resin formulations for composites based on epoxies, benzoxazines, bismaleimides, polyimides, cyanate esters, and ceramic precursors. Although a major portion of API products are based on epoxies, the company's different epoxy technologies are quite diverse and innovative. Resin systems are offered for all composite manufacturing processes including infusion (VARTM, RTM, RFI), filament winding, pultrusion, laminating, and prepreg. A range of curing technologies is offered including thermal, UV, and E-beam.
