In December 2011, Laboratory Corporation of America Holdings (LabCorp, NYSE: LH) completed the acquisition of Orchid Cellmark Inc (NASDAQ:ORCH) through its wholly owned subsidiary, OCM Acquisition Corp. In the United States, the firm is now called Cellmark Forensics, Inc. Orchid Cellmark had been a leading provider of identity DNA testing services for the human identity and agriculture markets. In the human identity area, the company provided DNA testing services for forensic, family relationship and security applications. In the agriculture field, Orchid Cellmark provided DNA testing services for food safety and selective trait breeding.
