HybriGene, L.L.C. is a biotechnology company focused on turf seed production. Pure Seed Testing is one of the largest suppliers of improved turfgrass varieties in the US and international markets. The primary focus of Pure Seed Testing is to develop new turfgrass varieties for a competitive market. A program in gene discovery through functional genomics in grasses related to simple and complex traits is also under development. Along with the rights to commercialize specific turf grass improvements through biotechnology, HybriGene L.L.C. has acquired all of the equipment, formerly owned by AgriBioTech, Inc (ABT) in laboratories in West Kingston, Rhode Island. This laboratory is a fully functional plant transgenics and plant molecular biology facility capable of performing all of the technical aspects necessary to commercialize new turf varieties with improved traits.
