Acoustech proposes a Phase I study to develop an acoustic dyadic sensor using piezoelectric single crystals. The study combines theoretical and numerical modeling along with experimental data obtained from a pre-prototype unit to assess the feasibility of developing a full scale unit during Phase II for a surveillance application. Greater sensor directivity in a comparable or smaller sized package translates into greatly improved sensor performance.
