Left Hand Design Corporation (LHDC), originally founded by ex-Ball Aerospace personnel, offers a range of precision pointing systems and components to industrial, commercial and aerospace applications. The firm develops precision pointing systems and components using high-performance aerospace technology applications then transfer them into commercial, industrial, and aerospace laboratory applications in cost-effective formats. A variety of high-quality beryllium, glass, silicon carbide and aluminum optics are procured from vendors around the world. All design, analysis, assembly, integration and testing, as well as computer equipment for research, design and business tasks, are maintained in-facility while additional system performance, analysis and testing can be done at The Orbital Systems Laboratory at the University of Colorado. Fine-Steering Mirrors, used to perform a variety of functions including tracking, scanning, pointing, line of sight stabilization, and alignment. LHDCâs FSMâs are 2-Axis Pointing Mirrors with large angular travel, flexure suspension, electro-magnetic actuators and Servo Control Electronics. Applications for FSMs include Interceptor/Seeker Optical Heads, Image Motion Compensation, Earth observation from Orbit, Ground and Space based astronomy, Instrumentation equipment, Video cameras, Infrared inspection, laser communications, laser surgery and Photolithograp
