Lexitek manufacturer of novel optics and optical instruments, photonics, and electro-optics. The firm manufacture a high-resolution photon counting imaging detector. Originally developed for low light level astronomy, the Lexitek PAPA detector is a megapixel device with MHz count rate. Lexitek is also developing high energy radiation (g-ray, neutron) imaging detectors which incorporate the PAPA detector for which a patent is pending. Lexitek is developing a new way of fabricating aspherical and diffractive optics at low cost. This proprietary technology enables some optical systems to be realized with fewer elements, lighter weight, and lower cost or to achieve better performance with comparable cost and complexity.
