Earlier he was Manager of Commercial Development for American Natural Resources and both a Marketing Manager and a Research Scientist with BASF. Bettinger has broad technical interests and holds 21 patents in the areas of optics, advanced materials, medical devices, tribology, impact, manufacturing, propulsion, microwave and mobile communications. His recent initiatives as President and Chief Operating Officer of The Technology Partnership have earned funding awards from Strategic Missile Defense, NASA, Air Force Research Laboratories, Air Force ManTech, Army TACOM, Navy, Boeing, and Pratt & Whitney Rocketdyne. The success of these funded programs has involved supportive laboratory efforts of University of Dayton Research Institute, Wayne State University, and University of Michigan.
