Public Profile
With facilities also in Ireland, APS Materials, Inc. -- Thermal Spray Coatings -- produces precision thickness coatings for the orthopaedic marketplace using Titanium, Aluminum, Vanadium, as well as Hydroxyapatite (a calcium phosphate material used as a synthetic bone substitute). Plasma Spray technology enables the highest possible mechanical properties while also providing a bio-inert or bio-active surface to interface with bone tissue. APS also provides equipment and part rebuilding as an alternative to expensive replacement. APS produces commercially pure titanium (CP Ti) and hydroxyapatite (HA) orthopaedic implant coatings for many of the largest and most respected medical manufacturers in the world. APS titanium (Ti 6AL 4V) and HA coatings are particularly wear-resistant and promote osseointegration between bone and implant. In addition to its long history in working with plasma sprayed titanium and hydroxyapatite, APS has been leading the market in biomedical coatings for PEEK implants.
