The 3 inch Acoustic Device, Countermeasure (ADC) MK2 is the Navy's standard torpedo countermeasure which has been deployed on submarines for over 20 years. The Mobile ADC MK2 device is currently under development and will provide significant tactical value in putting as much seperation between the launching submarine and the countermeasure as possible. In order to maximize the mobility effectiveness of the Mobile MK2 torpedo countermeasure, a cost effective, low risk integration approach for new acoustic technlogies, programming, micro processing, and associated compact electronic packaging was developed under the Initial Phase I project. The Phase I Option effort will complete the detailed optimization of components/subassemblies designs and provide a technical data package suitable to produce the Phase II prototypes.Under the Basic Phase II project, the design will be finalized, materials/parts procured and prototypes fabricated for pre-demonstration risk mitigation testing in prepration for Navy demonstration testing under the Phase II Option. The Phase II Option will provide formal demonstration of the enhanced capabilites utilizing Navy test facilities. The demo will focus on the acoustic, programming, and electronics enhancement performance factors with the Mobile MK2 design. Phase III will provide pre-production models
