Siegmund Scientific is a small business that specializes in detector system research and development including sensors, electronics, and data acquisition/display. Begun as a technical consulting business in the early 1980's, it now provides custom design, development and fabrication services for state of the art detector systems for soft x-ray to visible imaging spectroscopy and timing. Recent business efforts include development of instrumentation for satellites (ULEIS on the Atmospheric Composition Explorer (ACE), TESS on TERRIERS, EUVI on IMAGE, ALICE and RTOF on ROSETTA, GUVI on TIMED), a number of rocket experiments, and detectors for chemistry and atomic physics research. Siegmund Scientific has provided a considerable number of open face microchannel plate based detectors, and the design, fabrication and testing of various sealed tube detectors.
