The Internet, via the World Wide Web (WWW),currently provides some self-help learning programs. Technical Learning Resources, Inc. (TLR), using its proven methodology and courseware, intends to combine its resources on the WWW to provide online training. Together, TLR and the Internet can provide powerful training tools to those who use the Internet or work within company Intranets. A. The courseware contents would be transferred to a standard database format. SQL queries are then called through the website, the resulting data is passed back through ODBC and embedded dynamically into a template, viewed by the user. By developing templates for this Web-based training program, TLR can provide updated, effective courseware and reduce future production costs. B. To convert current courseware materials into HTML format and offering simple examples or using each course. Using Index methods, WWW users could easily find topics by clicking on specific subjects or using a simple search routine to locate examples.Summary Of Anticipated Results And Implications:Phase I: During Phase I or the Product Development LifeCycle, TLR will work with existing courseware to develop the prototype of Classroom Anywhere On-Line. Their expert team will develop and test the prototype of Classroom Anywhere On-Line internally.TLR will establish a test site at their facility to conduct focus group sessions to perform beta testing. The control focus group will consist of first time and inexperienced computer users. During this test period. TLR will analyze test results and make appropriate modifications to the prototype based on the criteria stated in our Technical Objectives (3b). TLR will adhere to the Quality Process as defined in Exhibit I throughout this process. This will ensure quality development during Phase I to test the product further for commercial development in Phase II.Once the prototype is functional and meets the technical objectives put forth, TLR will continue to test the product at three separate commercial sites:Xerox Corporation: Testing at Xerox Corporation will take place on their Intranet System. Results will tell us how well the prototype works for the end user without Trainer or Facilitator intervention.Blue Cross Blue Shield: Testing at Blue Cross Blue Shield will take place in a classroom setting. Results from this test site will tell us how well the prototype works in a formal classroom setting. The Fairport Public Library System: This test site will enable TLR to test marketing strategies for the Library systems, public appeal, membership pricing, staffing requirements, if any, documentation requirements, if any, and so on.Phase II:TLR will develop new lesson modules into Phase II as we move toward product release dates. These lesson modules will represent a better reflection of the final product at the end of Phase II. We will continue to test the product into Phase II, again using the development model defined in Exhibit 1. Constant testing, analysis and modification will take place.
