Public Profile
Nuclear Plasma Laboratories, also doing business as N- Plasma Laboratory Association and NPL Associates, offers innovative research and development on energy sources and energy conversion for the plasma industry. Plasma is a high temperature fluid composed of ions and electrons in a manner that they cancel, giving the fluid a neutral charge. Mankind has only recently begun to understand the physics of plasmas, which are required for development of fusion power and are increasingly being used for industrial uses including semiconductor processing and promoting specific chemical reactions. NPL specializes in understanding how to control and use this unique fluid in various practical applications. NPL is primarily interested in tackling problems with energy systems involving low and high-temperature plasmas but the firm is also experiences with other energy systems related to direct energy conversion and distributed power systems.
