In September 2009, Nestor Inc was acquired by American Traffic Solutions. Nestor, Inc. provides video-based traffic safety solutions and services. Through a wholly owned subsidiary, Nestor Traffic Systems, Inc., provides automated traffic safety solutions to state and municipal governments with particular focus on delivery of effective solutions for intersection and roadway safety. The firm offer sCrossingGuard®, a turnkey solution which helps customers reduce red light running and intersection collisions through automated enforcement technology and services, and PoliscanSpeed, a laser-based photo speed enforcement system designed to reduce the number of speeding vehicles on public roadways, including school zones and construction zones. Founded bythe late David Fox, the firm utilized neural network technology developed by Brown professors.
