Contract Number: ----------
Start Date: ----    Completed: ----
Phase I year
1993
Phase I Amount
$61,037
SENTEL will develop a NASA Operations and Maintenance (O&M) Test, Control and Monitoring System (TCMS) Wireless Information Network (TWIN) prototype based on advanced mobile computing technology and configured with software tailored to support NASA maintenance analysis requirements. The prototype will collect test data, temporarily store it, transfer it to a central PC, permit search and retrieval interactions, and generate task tracking status reports and trend analyses. In a related effort, Work Authorizing Document ID numbers will be affixed during data collection exercises and cross referenced back to Task records within the central system. The prototype network will be an innovative combination of off-the-shelf hardware, tailored software, Quality by Design techniques and information management practices. It will meet NASA's immediate QA information management needs (Phase I), be a basis for expansion into a full-developed NASA TWIN Network (Phase II), and create a generic approach with broad commercial application. The prototype is applicable to any commercial operation requiring efficient task and data management and analysis capability. Fully developed Phase II network components can be rapidly configured to meet specific and generic commercial data management applications.operations & maintenance, database network, maintainability, compact mobile computer, data collection, data reliabilityPhase 2 conversion

Phase II
