Anticipated Results/Potential Commercial Applications as described by the awardee:A new scintillator should result from this project. Its major features will be high brightness combined with high environmental stability. The scintillator will have applications in the fields of borehole logging, nuclear powerplant monitoring, nuclear medicine, and other fields in which scintillators are needed. This technology also has potential application in other areas such as solar cells, ultraviolet and visible light emitting diodes and lasers, and infrared optical components.
