Completion of the Phase I SBIR N92-045 demonstrated that a UNIX RISC based authoring system, compatible with the current version of the SFMPL, could be used to develop training which can be "embedded" in the TAC-3, SFMPL software. The training to be developed will run in a non-interference, "background" mode and will be available via the SFMPL menu for Familiarization, Continuation, and Specific Application for SFMPL requirements. Phase Ii will implement the Work Plan, developed as part of Phase I, to develop an estimated 32 hours of interactive, TAC-3 based courseware for the following SFMPL requirements: TACTICAL: (10 hrs estimated) Own Ship data, Own Ship Definition, Voyage Planning, Force Editor, Threat Editor, Search Areas, Stationary Objects, Sonobuoys, comms Support, GOTS communications, TIB Correlation, TIB View; SEARCH: (10 Hrs. estimated) FOM, Search Planning, Point Performance, Active Area Performance, passive Area Performance, Vulnerability, Sonobuoy Optimization; CONTACT MANAGEMENT: (8 Hrs. estimated) ON Hull Contact, OTH contact, Solution Summary, Tracker Assignment, Localization/TMA, Plots, Periscope Observation, Maneuvering Board; WEAPONS: (4 Hrs. estimated) MK 48, ADCAP,SLMM. Phase II will provide critically need training for submariners using the SFMPL and TAC-3 systems.
