BIOTIX proposes to develop several pieces of instrumentation that will speed the process of DNA sequencing. The approach is to assess the feasibility of automating several steps of the sequencing procedure that are currently accomplished manually. Specific Phase I objectives include the development of prototypes for a unit that will automate the actual sequencing reactions and a unit that will semiautomate the pouring of sequencing gels.National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK)
