BIO 101 will build a prototype machine to automatically analyze dideoxy-chain-termination DNA polymerase reaction products separated on a single-lane polyacrylamide gel. The machine will analyze differentially labeled reaction products and print the sequence. The Phase I prototype machine will form the basis for Phase II, a completely automated DNA sequencing machine that will sequence kilobase-length DNA molecules.National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMSD)
