The objective of this project is to develop a device for taking automated digital nerve latency measurements and displaying the results on an LED display readout. The device is intended for medical testing of motor nerve conduction velocity and nerve latencies. This diagnostic and prognostic test is used for a large number of medical and surgical disorders. Testing is to be accomplished using state-of-the-art electronic design techniques to develop an instrument that will measure accurate and reproducible nerve latencies by noninvasive stimulation and recording techniques. The device will be easily portable, operable by medical personnel without specialized training, and priced in the thousand dollar range.National Institute Of Neurological And Communicative Disorders And Stroke
