Public Profile
Anchored in developing new technologies for government applications and spinning off these technologies as products for both the military and commercial sectors, the objective of Enig Associates, Inc. has been to maintain its culture of innovation and to license technology to organizations that have the expertise, assets, and proven track record of successfully productizing high technology. Extensively SBIR involved and active, Management recognizes the primary responsibility for transition planning, implementation, and commercialization - including seeking out opportunities to interact with end users to understand mission needs and gain feedback that can support SBIR Phase II development activities and position the company to secure Phase III funding. ENIG further understands that securing Phase III funding is essential to further mature the technology, as well as to understand and address: (i) manufacturing integration (ii) testing and certification (iii) supportability (iv) training, and all other relevant issues required for the proposed technology to be fielded within the defense, federal, or commercial markets. An example of a successful SBIR-funded transition has been the firm's Magnetohydrodynamic Explosive Munition (MAHEM(TM))program, being developed by DARPA, Air Force, Army, Navy, and DTRA. With over $7.8M in Phase III funding provided to ENIG over a five to six year period $1.8M of it recently provided under a new contract with the Army as transition partner and the promise of Joint-Service technology transition into several weapons systems, MAHEM(TM) is an excellent example of cutting-edge technology being developed to meet and/or exceed the customers requirements.
