Spun out of Carnegie Mellon, Rubitection Inc is structured around detection, risk assessment and care management of dermatological and vascular conditions with a particular focus initially on bedsores and diabetic foot ulcers for seniors at home, in nursing homes or in hospitals. Rubitection has developed a low-cost, easy-to-use hand-held system that allows/enables ready monitoring of health of skin health by the individual or by others in some measure responsible for their care. The device supports skin health monitoring and care management for wounds and chronic dermatological skin conditions - identification early in the procss of a range of conditions including bedsores, diabetic foot ulcers, vascular leg ulcers and chronic dermatological conditions.
