Founded to tackle commercialization of engineering technologies developed at Montana State University, Montana Emergent Technologies (MET) initially offered consulting, contract research & development and project management services. Focused on the mining/metals and environmental industries, with particular expertise in biomineralization in oilfield applications, microbial enhanced coal bed methane, and downhole microbial sampling. MET has strong ties with Montana State University's Center for Biofilm Engineering and with the Montana Tech University's Petroleum Engineering Department. The Firm's engineers between them have a range of expertise and experience, including work in petroleum, base metal smelting, mining, mineral processing, environmental technology development, aerospace, water treatment, and electronics and semiconductor manufacturing industries. In 2019 MET launched their own BioSqueeze process to the commercial market. This technology utilizes Microbial Induced Calcite Precipitation Process for sealing methane leaks in Oil and Gas wells. With the technology being environmentally friendly -- utilizing naturally occurring bacteria and agricultural grade chemicals - the effort is take this Green Technology to the Oil and Gas industry to help clean up emissions leaks that other technologies cannot - to include enhanced oil recovery and sand control..
