The DLA has a need to identify competent and qualified domestic suppliers for mission-critical items that are becoming increasingly scarce. To combat the obsolescence issue, Mentis Sciences Inc. (Mentis) proposes a qualification effort for Bleed Air Ducting for the C-5 Galaxy Air Vehicle (C-5). Mentis understands the importance of supporting the C-5 and maintaining a strong supply chain for components within the system, ensuring the vehicle can perform its mission for the foreseeable future. In the Phase II effort, Mentis will become a qualified source of supply for the duct components. Component acceptance will involve manufacturing of each component and performing subsequent qualification testing for each duct assembly. Testing requirements for each duct assembly have been outlined by the OEM and verify that each delivered unit complies with the performance, design, and construction requirements of the system. Successful completion of the testing will allow Mentis to become an approved source for these items, improving the robustness of the supply chain.
