In December 2015, the firm was acquired by NaviHealth: a Cardinal Health company. Some time during FY16, RightCare Solutions, Inc. acquired the PA firm Aircare - also SBIR-involved - with AirCare's SBIR project was transferred to RightCare for continuaiton into Phase II. Working in very similar space, RightCare had been organized around developing evidence-based admission and discharge decision support systems. The company's premier product is a risk-stratifying software capable of offering predictive action and course-of-care decision assistance at the time of admission. Another product, the company's proprietary technology, Discharge Decision Support System (D2S2), which was developed through a decade of research conducted at the University of Pennsylvania School of Nursing, utilizes evidence-based technology to optimize care transitions. It is the only medical software focused on healthcare transitions using a unique algorithm that enables continuous point-of-care decision support, optimizes workflow, and dramatically improves post-acute care transitions. With D2S2, hospitals, insurers, and homecare agencies improve the quality of care for patients while alleviating the devastating toll that 30-day readmissions exact on the healthcare system.
