The objective of this proposal is to continue the development of the innovative design that combines a water-selective membrane,cross-flow filtration, and a specially designed spiral-wound filter membrane element into an effective aviation fuel filtration unit. In Phase I, the feasibility of these design features was demonstrated. Phase II will pursue advanced development to refine the design, optimize the performance, and build a 100 GPM prototype for land-based testing and a 400 GPM prototype for shipboard aviation fuel reclamation filtration. The goal of Phase II completion is to bring the device to a commercially marketable state.
