New initiatives such as AFWERX Spark Collider are helping drive innovation down to the base level and are providing new pathways to help Airmen solve problems. Other initiatives such as the AFWERX Open Innovation SBIR process are bringing new commercial companies into the Air Force innovation ecosystem. Both initiatives have the power to radically change the USAF's innovation culture and process, however there are many resource and knowledge gaps among AF Airmen and commercial companies that limit the overall speed, effectiveness and scalability of these programs. In order to maximize successful innovation and return on investment, innovation support tools are needed to help close these gaps and improve the process innovation and successful implementation of new technologies. In the proposed SBIR program, Treble One will adapt its commercial innovation support process, analyze current gaps with in the AFWERX innovation ecosystem, and develop enhanced innovation support tools that will help both Airmen and commercial companies through the problem identification, solution matching, validation, and acquisition phases of innovation.
