Theracycle Company has developed a motorized exercise bike, the Theracycle, to be used for Physical Therapy. The product was developed originally in the early 1930’s as a motor-driven stationary bicycle, called the Exercycle, that allowed a constant, full-body motion to for individuals looking to keep fit but lacking strength or endurance. This machine became the exercise method of choice for more than one hundred thousand people. The firm’s new exercise bicycle was designed specifically for the needs of people with movement disorders, who lack the strength and endurance to use traditional exercise equipment. Until Theracycle, there was no affordable way for people with disabilities, or those recovering from knee or hip injuries, surgeries or replacements, to safely benefit from a regular full-body exercise program at home in order to help improve strength, mobility and flexibility; increase energy; endurance and general well-being; reduce stress on joints during exercise; and improve muscle tone & cardiovascular fitne
