VRRs HellHives are a new class of add-on modules that enable drone swarm operations from motherships (UAS & UGVs). VRR has already successfully used several COTS motherships modularly added-on to with HellHives for launching and controlling swarms of smaller drones. Mothership carried HellHive demonstrations and tests already include use of VRRs own COTS Bee Drone swarms each launching a single smaller Racer Drone (top-launch modes), to most recently Bee Drones releasing swarms of COTS CrazyFly Nano Drones (bomb-bay launch modes). Phase-I of this project will pragmatically use Rhomans COTS Heavy-Lift Octocopter as our mothership with VRRs HellHive added-on, enabling swarms of Bee and/or Racer Drones, and/or other selected COTS/GOTS Drones as the NAVs for this project and other transitions. Further, Rhomans Flight Controller software module will provide advanced automated compensations for changing center of gravity as Nav drones are launched and recovered. Swarm control methods include COTS ground-control-stations (smartphones/tablets/AR-HMDs) use of COTS Free and opensource Q Ground Control, and ArduPilot Mission Planner as well as VRRs HoloWarrior software remote control of the NAV drones relayed through the HellHive or pre-launch programmed for location-sensing/grid-searching. Modes include Fire&Forget to destinations downloaded within the HellHive prior to launch, teleoperate, and/or AI guided from QueenBee Drones.
